All the cool kids seem to be doing one of those “Top 20 Albums which Changed Your Life” Meme. Pretty straightforward: you put down a list of… well, 20 albums which changed your life. Oh — and then you have to tag 128 of your friends and demand they do the same.
I want to do this, but I’m going to do it my way. Below I have lyrics from one of the better-known tracks of the 20 albums I have chosen. Your job — be the first to guess as close to 20 as you can. Winner gets absolutely nothing. Well, maybe a mention somewhere down the line. But try your best and guess anyway without looking at everyone else’s answers first, okay?
Ready, set…
UPDATE: I have answers for everyone! Look at the reply section to see how people did — and find the correct answers as well!
1. One that won’t make me nervous wondering what to do / One that makes me feel like I feel when I’m with you…
2. You better live now / Before the grim reaper comes knocking on your door
3. The boys are busy in the mirrors / Trying to imitate their heroes / You make it with a false surrender / More memories that you won’t remember
* 4. … Siam’s gonna be the witness to the ultimate test of cerebral fitness / This grips me more than would a muddy old river or reclining Bhudda…
5. But we unleashed a lion / Gnashed his teeth and bit the recess lady’s breast, how could I forget.
6. ‘Don’t Worry, Be Happy’ was a number one jam / Damn, if I say it you can slap me right here.
* 7. Keeping it a mystery gets to me / Running down the length of my thighs…
8. Then let me build a bridge / For I cannot fill the chasm / And let me set the battlements on fire
9. He wear no shoeshine he got toe-jam football / He got monkey finger he shoot Coca-Cola
10. He got the action, he got the motion — yeah, the boy can play…
11. And every meeting with his so-called superior / Is a humiliating kick in the crotch
* 12. How do you leave the past behind / When it keeps finding ways to get to your heart / It reaches way down deep and tears you inside out / ‘Til you’re torn apart…
13. Call it morning driving through the sound and in and out the valley…
14. It’s obvious you hate me though I’ve done nothing wrong / I’ve never even met you so what could I have done
15. Put it in the ground where the flowers grow / Gold and silver shine
16. Radio playing softly some singer’s sad sad song / He’s singing about standing in the shadows of love / I guess he feels awfully alone
* 17. I’ve got to be where my spirit can run free / Gotta find my corner of the sky…
18. Who’s gonna pay attention to your dreams / And who’s gonna plug your ears when you scream
19. If I swallow anything evil put your finger down my throat / If I shiver please give me a blanket, keep me warm let me wear your coat.
** 20. With you I can stand / no matter where the howlin’ wind of change may blow
____
* Denotes a soundtrack of some sort — whether it’s an original motion picture soundtrack, a stage cast soundtrack, or something similar.
** Denotes a lyric from an album that you’re probably not going to identify unless you cheat or really know me that well.
Some of these are easy; some are tough. But I’m going to help you all out (if you need it) and provide audio snippets! Try first without them if you can.)
[audio:fav-albums.mp3]And remember — I’m looking for the name of the album (and artist), not the song.
Good luck!

B.E. Earls last blog post..20 Albums
Umm… you know… I *was* going to post the ones that I knew here.
But now? I kinda just don’t want to embarrass myself! Haha
So, I’m going to slink off into my “Clearly Ignorant to the 80s” hole and give myself a stern talking to! It just doesn’t pay to simply like a song anymore… ya gotta know the name of it, dad gummit!
Oh right. I was going to do that alone.
Annnyway. I love the twist you put on this, Shiny. Good job!
And to all of you who are Much Better At This: best of luck! 😉
PS: I think Hilly spanked all of ya, lol. 🙂
Ambers last blog post..25 Things You Always Wanted To Know!
Grrrr! I read this post last night on my phone and I can’t comment from my phone. Therefore, I’m really late to this party.
Now if I try to play along it will feel like when your hubby buys you flowers because yesterday you told him, “you never buy me flowers anymore.” It’s still nice, but not the same. Do you have the same problems with your hubby? Or is just me?
In any event, I’m stealing this idea from you and your post from the other day, the things that you think are overrated. Yep, I’m stealing both of those ideas for posts of my own.
Will that get me a special prize or something?? 🙂
And PS- “He got the action, he got the motion — yeah, the boy can play…” Ever since I read that, that song as been stuck in my head. It was there when I went to sleep and it was there when I woke up. Thanks for that.

WOOHOO FOR THE FRAGILE!
I liked a lot of your picks and loved the twist you put on it. For me, however, I suck at remembering album names. I can sing most of these songs… the parts you listed. And that’s good enough for me.
